LORNA WAWERU WANJIRU TOPS UNIVERSITY CAPITAL MARKETS CHALLENGE
Maasai Mara University’s flag has been maintained flying high by Lorna Waweru Wanjiru, a student who stood tests to clinch the First-Runners Up position in this year’s National Capital Markets University Challenge.
Lorna won a trophy and bagged a cash prize of Ksh. 100,000. The finals took place on Friday, 17th May 2019 in Nairobi, Kenya. Late February this year, Lorna Waweru Wanjiru and Robin Juma qualified for the semi-finals after outsmarting their colleagues during a challenge that took place at Maasai Mara University. The students have been working under the guidance and mentoring by Mr Elkanah Kimeli who is a lecturer in the School of Business and Economics and doubles as an acting Internal Auditor at Maasai Mara University.
National Capital Markets University Challenge is an inter-university competition that primarily focuses on testing the participants’ knowledge and understanding of capital markets and financial issues.
