Director, Institute of Ethnobiology & Ethnomedicines

The Directorate of Institute of Ethnobiology & Ethnomedicuines is a newly created Directorate to complement the University's academic, research and community outreach and services activities. The institute is focused on exploring all kinds of indigenous knowledge systems in the context of people's cultures and socio-well-being to improve their livelihoods in health industry, industrial growth and development, food security, unemployment and socio-economic inequalities while preserving the heritage of the people and customs accumulated in time and space. The industitute, having been built on an ethos of socio-cultural and anthropological practical values, is committed to enabling the widest possible access to affordable, quality and evidence-based healthcare services rooted in the centuries-old ethnocentric beliefs, experiences and practicers of traditions, cultures. taboos, customs and norms in various human societies.
