Maasai Mara University Office of Career Services and Students’ Advisement is the latest addition to other service departments in the University. The services of the Office are stated, inter alia, as academic advising, career services, counselling services, graduate tracker services, linkage between industries and students, high school recruitment, intra-institutional exchanges, apprenticeship services, creating sustainable alumni network, facilitating entrepreneur incubator, mentoring students’ ambassadors, organizing recruitment career fairs and promoting students’ participation in capital fairs. As a sub-system of Maasai Mara University system, the Office will be guided by is the University’s vision, which is: To be a world-class university committed to academic excellence.

Specifically, the Office of Career Services commits to:

  • Assist students in Career Placement activities.
  • Respond to student questions pertaining to career development exploration and placement procedures.
  • Conduct career advisement sessions for current students, recent graduates and alumni.
  • Maintain regular contact with employers for new jobs opportunities.
  • Sort and submit qualified students,
  • Empower students with CV writing, interview skills and job search strategies.
  • Connect students and alumni to employers by facilitating students to participate in local career fairs, industry conferences and other networking events.
  • Consult with academic deans to ensure that programs and services address student needs.
  • Develop outreach programs to promote career advisement services among students.
  • Establish an updated network of graduates from the University
  • Promote intra-institutional exchanges for students and staff.
  • Provide psychosocial counselling services to students.

  • Fund raise for the establishment of the Centre within the approved timelines.

Maasai Mara University created the Directorate of Linkages, Collaboration and Marketing which is part of the emerging systems of global higher education through innovative strategies, Linkages and Collaborations with other Institutions locally and internationally.

Currently, the University has more than ten strategic international links in Africa, America, Europe and Asia. Some of the notable linkages include Clemson University-U.S.A, University of Pau-France, Regents University-London, China –Africa Centre for Research and Education, Wuhan botanical garden - China, and Arhus University- Denmark.

The major activities in the Directorate include: faculty and staff exchange, joint research and teaching, International conferences and academic meetings among others. This makes Maasai Mara University, a world Class University of choice in line with its vision.

Welcome to Maasai Mara university town campus, “the campus of choice”. The campus was started towards the end of 2014 and is situated at the heart of Narok Town along the Narok – Nairobi highway at the Oltalet shopping mall. In pursuance of the university vision and mission of being a world class university we offer high-quality education through research, innovation and consultancy services. We offer market driven programmes which ensure that our graduates meet the market demands and stand out in the crowded academic arena.

The campus offers post- graduate, graduate, diploma and certificate programmes in business management, education, social works, community development, tourism and wildlife management and environmental science. The courses are offered in the regular, evening and weekend modules to meet the ever growing demands for education for business people, employees in the various fields and school leavers.

Our programmes have adopted the alternative module where the courses are fast-tracked using the tri-semester system hence providing an advantage of completing the courses within the shortest time possible.

Mr. John Maera

Ag. Director, Examinations & Timetabling

The Directorate is responsible for the smooth running of the University by ensuring that the Teaching Timetable is prepared before commencement of Lectures and the Examination timetable is released at least one month to the start of examinations. 

The Directorate is also facilitating the preparation of University Examinations by organizing external examination of draft question papers and results as scheduled by Senate.  The processing, packaging, safe-keeping and distribution of the end of semester examinations is the responsibility of the Directorate.  At the end of every year the Directorate coordinates the printing and issuance of academic certificates to all graduates of Masai Mara University.  Additionally, the allocation of lecture rooms for academic and non-academic University activities is regulated by this Directorate.  

In summary, good timetabling, confidential and timely production of University examinations and delivery of quality academic certificates to our graduates is our concern as a Directorate.
