Maasai Mara University steered by its Vice-Chancellor Prof. Mary K. Walingo has been instrumental in fostering the mainstreaming of Youth, Women and People Living with Disability (PLWD) in supplies of goods, works and services for the Varsity beyond the 30% as defined in the Public Procurement and Asset Disposal Act, 2015.
Despite that milestone, the Varsity still yearns for a time when all youths, women and PLWDs realize how to access and maximize their share in procurement and supply opportunities both in the public and private sector.
To achieve this, Maasai Mara University held a successful sensitization meeting with suppliers under the Preference and Reservation Scheme. The meeting which was spearheaded by Procurement and Liason Departments attracted potential suppliers from all walks of life; most notable was the high number of Persons Living with Disabilities (PLWD), Youth and Women. This was in readiness for the Registration/Pre-Qualification of suppliers for the FYs 2019-2021.
