Course Structure

The Bachelor of Science in Environmental studies (BES) shall run for four full time academic years (8 semesters) excluding a 3 month industrial attachment to be taken between the 6th and 7th semesters.

Admission Requirements

  1. The general Rules and Regulations governing University admission shall apply.
  2. In addition to satisfying the minimum University requirements, the candidate should also possess passes at grade C or above in Biology or Biological Sciences and a minimum of a C plain in, Chemistry and either Geography, Agriculture or Mathematics OR,
  3. At least two Principal and one Subsidiary passes in Kenya Advanced Certificate of Education (KACE) in Biology, Chemistry, Geography or Mathematics; OR,
  4. A two-year Diploma in Applied Biology, Environmental Management, Forestry, Wildlife Management or Public Health and Sanitation from Maasai Mara University or any institution recognized by Maasai Mara University Senate with at least a credit pass.
  5. Diploma holders who meet the admission requirements will join the programme in the 2nd year of study.
  6. Holders of any other qualifications recognized by Maasai Mara University Senate may be admitted after passing a prescribed entry examination
