Dickson Malanga Shikanga is an accomplished Certified Public Accountant (CPA) with a strong background in auditing and a notable academic record. He holds a Master’s degree in Business Administration with a specialization in Finance from Jomo Kenyatta University of Agriculture and Technology, and a Bachelor’s degree in Business Management with a focus on Finance and Banking from Masinde Muliro University of Science and Technology.
Throughout his professional journey, Dickson has held several key positions within the government sector, demonstrating his expertise and commitment to financial management and auditing. As Manager – Audit at the Office of the Auditor General (OAG), he led audit teams responsible for conducting comprehensive audits of various government entities, including County Governments, State Corporations, Commissions, and Ministries. His role involved analyzing extensive audit evidence, preparing detailed working paper files, and crafting thorough audit reports. Additionally, Dickson effectively fulfilled administrative duties as the hub director’s deputy, ensuring smooth office operations and efficient staff management.
In his capacity as an Assistant Manager – Audit at the Kenya National Audit Office (KENAO), Dickson continued to demonstrate strong leadership skills by leading audit teams in assessing the financial records and compliance of County Governments, State Corporations, and Government Ministries. His ability to gather and analyze audit evidence, along with his well-structured working paper files, contributed significantly to producing comprehensive audit reports that highlighted areas of improvement and recommended corrective measures.
Earlier in his career, Dickson served as a Senior Auditor, taking on the role of a team leader in audits of local authorities and state corporations. His responsibilities included analyzing financial data, preparing detailed working paper files, and drafting comprehensive audit reports. As an Auditor I at KENAO and later as Auditor II at the Auditor General’s office, he continued to excel in auditing State Corporations, consistently emphasizing the importance of adherence to audit procedures and standards.
