• October 2019 Ongoing - Research on Entrepreneurial activities of men in informal settlements of Kenya: Case of Mathare Valley in Nairobi intended for a book on Men in Africa - Editor Dr. Ezra Chitambo
• 2000 – 2003: Research Assistant with the World Health Organisation's research team at United States International University-Africa that worked on a project on Injecting Drug use in Nairobi and Mombasa Sites, Kenya. Principle Investigator – Dr. Maurice Odek-Ogunde.
• Jan - August 2001: Research Assistant to a project on Community Management Systems for Fuel wood Resources in Western Kenya: A Prospect for Policy Formulation based at the Geography Department of Kenyatta University; Principle Investigator - Dr. Ishmail Mahiri.
• September 2001: Contracted to carry out a survey of a variety of population characteristics in the Kahawa Sukari parish area of St. Joseph Catholic Church, Nairobi.

• 27th – 29th June, 2023: Presented a paper on Implications of human activities carried out in urban green spaces of slum dwelling areas: A case of Dandora Estates, Nairobi County, Kenya, together with Wamalwa, S. M. and Konana, C. during The 9th Maasai Mara University Annual International Conference on ‘Science and Technology for sustainable development’.
• 28th – 30th June, 2021: Presented a paper on Coping with implications of government policy on COVID-19 pandemic on livelihoods among Kahawa Wendani’s low-income residents in Kiambu County, during The 6th Maasai Mara University Annual International Conference on ‘Research and innovation: Infrastructural preparedness for emerging global challenges’.
• 11th – 13th September, 2018: Presented a paper on Accessing extra income: The natural competence of Mathare Slum Residents of Nairobi, Kenya, during The 4th Maasai Mara University Annual International Conference on ‘An integrated approach in resolving conflicts in the use of Natural Resources’.
• 2017: Presented a paper on Improving income in informal settlements: an intervention to surviving by residents of Mathare slums in Nairobi, during The 3rd International Conference, Maasai Mara University, Kenya.
• 25th -26th May, 2016: Presented a paper on An Extra Income Source: The Mathare Slum Residents’ Perspective to Sustainable Living during The 2nd International Maasai Mara University Conference on ‘Innovation, Tourism and Entrepreneurship for Sustainable Development’.
• 2nd December 2016: Presented a seminal report on Strategies of Coping with Inadequate Income among Slum Dwellers of Mathare Valley – Nairobi, Kenya during The 33rd Postgraduate Seminar for PhD graduates on the theme ‘Education, Research and Innovation for Attainment of Sustainable Development Goals’ at Kenyatta University, Kenya.
• 6th November 2015: Presented a paper on The Power of Insecurity in Determining Performance of Activities of Slum Dwellers: The Case of Mathare Valley, during the Study Circle meeting under the auspices of The East African Centre for Research in Performance Cultures held in Kericho, Kenya.
