  • Role University Should Play in the move from exam-oriented education to competency-based education, how is the university preparing for the students;
  • Benefits of CUE engagement with universities’ and how to improve;
  • By 2018-All teaching staff MUST hold a Ph.D. asset in 2014- need to revisit because it has not been realised;
  • Funding for University education and research;

International Conference on Mathematics and Mathematics Education (Ordu Turkey, 26th June-29th June 2018) The following was done:

  • Current research trends in Mathematics, computational mathematics and Mathematics Education;
  • Presentation of research papers.

Corporate Governance Course (Kenya School of Government 15/02/2016-19/02/2016) The following was covered:

  • The concept & principles of Corporate Governance;
  • Strategic Thinking;
  • Risk Management Framework;
  • Effective Conduct of Board Meetings, Communication and Reporting in Boards, Ethics in Corporate Governance and Directorship, Code of Best Practice, corporate culture, Performance Management, Official Etiquettes and Protocol etc.

3rd Council Retreat: Transformative Leadership for Quality Higher Education in Attainment of Vision 2030 (Mombasa Beach Hotel, 19/08/2015- 21/08/2015).
The following was done:

Biomathematics Workshop MoHEST (Kenya)-IRD(France)

(Morendat, Naivasha, 22/ 6/2009-26/ 6/2009) The following was done: 

  • Presentation of academic papers:
  • Established a collaboration with IRD(France), where Kenyan mathematicians can do joint research with French mathematicians;
  • Kenyan students can to PhD. research in France.

 

World intellectual property rights workshop (Moi University Eldoret, 9/11/97-14/11/97) The following was covered:

  • Strategic Considerations Related to Commercial Exploitation of Intellectual Property and Know-How: Intellectual Property Rights in the Educational Process; Intellectual Property Rights in the Business Development of Universities; Intellectual Property Rights in the Protection of Selling Ideas in Universities;
  • Patents, Trade Marks, Geographical origin. etc.
  • Monitoring & Evaluation Curriculum Development Workshop Great Rift Valley Lodge & Resort, Naivasha22/11/2010- 26/11/2010)
  • Together with Stakeholders, developed a curriculum in Monitoring and Evaluation.

Community Service

  • Chairman Board of Management Ndivisi Girls High School.
    Achievements: Raised funds and developed various school facilities worthy Ksh 36. Million. Introduced, Performance Appraisal System (PAS) at the school and as a result we have the school post very good results.
  • Chief Guest at Graduation Ceremonies at Beam International Training centre 30th November 2011. Helps in outreach services, the marketing of the university and promoting education through indicating how students can transit to university Education.
  • Primary School Book: Authored “Guided Revision Questions for KCPE” (Check Text Book centre Website)

  • Did Planning for Telecommunication services.
  • 17th Nov. 1996 to March 2003 Lecturer: University of Nairobi. Achievements: Revised MSC. Programme in Applied Mathematics to include, among other notable changes new trends in Mathematics, Dynamical Systems, and Functional Differential Equations. This knowledge is important in mathematical modeling.
  • March 2003- 31st October 2008 Senior Lecturer: University of Nairobi Achievements: Developed Study Material for Open and Distant Learning (ODL) Science Program as follows:

  • Ordinary Differential Equations II: University of Nairobi (2006)
  • Ordinary Differential Equations I: University of Nairobi (Electronic content- Asynchronize mode) (2005)

  • 12th June 2008- March.2015. Associate professor Masinde Muliro University of Science and Technology (MMUST). Achievements: Revised MSC and Ph.D. Programmes in Applied Mathematics to include, among other notable changes, Dynamical Systems, Functional Differential Equations, Stochastic Differential Equations and Biomathematics. Developed a curriculum on Monitoring and Evaluation. This knowledge is important in mathematical modeling.
  • 25th March. 2015- to Date Professor
  • 1st Sept. 2015–31st September 2016: Sabbatical at Maasai Mara University, Narok. Achievements: Development post graduate programme in Applied Mathematics and Bachelor of Science in Actuarial Science.
