Celebrating a Day of the African Child

Maasai Mara University , Directorate of gender Equity and Culture in collaboration with Narok County Gender Technical Working group and Several NGOs and CBOs ,today 11/10/2024,joined the Narok county community to celebrate the International Day of the Girl Child celebration at Nkoilale Primary, Siana Ward, Narok West. This year theme was”Vision for the Future”,This was in support of the vision 2030 ,to ensure narok county has zero reporting on FGM,teenage pregnancies and early marriages,and embracing and raising a girl child to beat olds and become future generations takers in all fields for the benefit of our nation.

In the same spirit of lifting a girl in Maa community the message was echoed by Pesi Ntari (C.O Gender),prof.Manyasi (Maasai Mara University VC representative)Janet Osire (ACC), Agnes Ngeno (Director Gender – National Government), Lily Bosire (Director Gender – Bomet County), Mr. Rotich (Health Department), the County Commissioner and the Magistrate team led by Madam Sinyada. Maasai Mara University students were also present to celebrate the activity with other key stakeholders. We reinforced our collective commitment to nurturing and empowering the next generation of women leaders through mentorship and education.
Maasai Mara University donated 1000seedlings for the school to enhance the greening agenda that the first lady of the county had already started in the school through Maasai Mara University.
